Éiriú Eolas Condensed

Here is my personal simplified version of the Éiriú Eolas breathing and meditation programme:


Pipe Breath

(every morning & evening)
  1. Breathe in through the nose, constricting the pharynx almost as if you are snoring, but not making any noise, for 6 seconds.
  2. Hold 3 seconds.
  3. Breathe out through the mouth, similarly constricting the pharynx, for 9 seconds.
  4. Hold 3 seconds.
  5. Repeat 1—4 for 11 more times.
  6. Pause for 10 seconds.
  7. Repeat 1—6 for 2 more times.

Practise this every day for best results.


3-Stage Breath

(every Monday & Thursday evening, in place of Pipe Breath)

Stretch as much as you can, especially your neck, before beginning this!

    Stage 1
  1. Place your hands on your waist, such that your fingertips touch at the navel.
  2. Breathe in through the nose, constricting the pharynx almost as if you are snoring, but not making any noise, for 6 seconds. Your fingertips should be apart.
  3. Hold 3 seconds.
  4. Breathe out through the mouth, similarly constricting the pharynx, for 9 seconds. Your fingertips should be touching again.
  5. Hold 3 seconds.
  6. Repeat 2—5 for 5 more times.
    Stage 2
  1. Place your hands on your chest, such that your fingertips touch at the centre.
  2. Breathe in through the nose, constricting the pharynx almost as if you are snoring, but not making any noise, for 6 seconds. Your fingertips should be apart.
  3. Hold 3 seconds.
  4. Breathe out through the mouth, similarly constricting the pharynx, for 9 seconds. Your fingertips should be touching again.
  5. Hold 3 seconds.
  6. Repeat 2—5 for 5 more times.
    Stage 3
  1. Place your hands behind your shoulders so you can feel your chest expand as you breathe.
  2. Breathe in through the nose, constricting the pharynx almost as if you are snoring, but not making any noise, for 6 seconds.
  3. Hold 3 seconds.
  4. Breathe out through the mouth, similarly constricting the pharynx, for 9 seconds.
  5. Hold 3 seconds.
  6. Repeat 2—5 for 5 more times.
  7. Bring your hands down gently to rest. Breathe normally.

That's it for the 3-Stage Breath. Up next is the:


Warrior's Breath

(every Monday and Thursday evening, immediately following 3-Stage Breath)
  1. Reach above your head while breathing in through the nose normally. Make fists when your hands are all the way above you.
  2. Pull your hands down to waist level very quickly while breathing out sharply.
  3. Repeat 1—2 for 11 more times.
  4. Let your hands fall to your lap and breathe normally for about 8 seconds.
  5. Repeat 1—4 for 2 more times.

That must have been exhausting, but we're going to do some serious energy work now with:


Bioenergetic Breath1

(every Monday and Thursday evening, immediately following Warrior's Breath)

As you inhale, visualise Life entering into you. As you exhale, visualise all your personal problems leaving.

Be aware, this circulates emotional energy quite a bit, so your reaction can be unpredictable! Use a mild variant of the Pipe Breath while doing this for best results.

    Round 1
  1. Breathe deeply into your belly with your nose for 6 seconds.
  2. Breathe out through your mouth for 6 seconds.
  3. Repeat 1—2 for 29 more times.
    Round 2
  1. Breathe into your belly through your nose for 3 seconds.
  2. Breathe out through your mouth for 3 seconds.
  3. Repeat 1—2 for 29 more times.
    Round 3
  1. Breathe sharply into your belly through your nose.
  2. Breathe sharply out through your mouth.
  3. Repeat 1—2 for 29 more times.

We are done with bioenergetic breath. Now it is time to complete the full programme with the:


Meditation

(every evening before bed and after programme)

We begin with a simple, short round of Pipe Breath, then move on to the Prayer of the Soul proper.

    Breathing
  1. Breathe in through the nose, constricting the pharynx almost as if you are snoring, but not making any noise, for 6 seconds.
  2. Hold 3 seconds.
  3. Breathe out through the mouth, similarly constricting the pharynx, for 9 seconds.
  4. Hold 3 seconds.
  5. Repeat 1—4 for 3 more times.
    Prayer of the Soul
  1. Breathe in through the nose, constricting the pharynx almost as if you are snoring, but not making any noise, for 6 seconds.
  2. Breathe out while saying, 'Oh Divine Cosmic Mind'
  3. Repeat 1.
  4. Breathe out while saying, 'Holy Awareness in All Creation'
  5. Repeat 1.
  6. Breathe out while saying, 'Carried in the heart'
  7. Repeat 1.
  8. Breathe out while saying, 'Ruler of the mind'
  9. Repeat 1.
  10. Breathe out while saying, 'Saviour of the Soul'
  11. Repeat 1.
  12. Breathe out while saying, 'Live in me today'
  13. Repeat 1.
  14. Breathe out while saying, 'Be my daily bread'
  15. Repeat 1.
  16. Breathe out while saying, 'As I give bread to others'
  17. Repeat 1.
  18. Breathe out while saying, 'Help me grow in knowledge'
  19. Repeat 1.
  20. Breathe out while saying, 'Of All Creation'
  21. Repeat 1.
  22. Breathe out while saying, 'Clear my eyes'
  23. Repeat 1.
  24. Breathe out while saying, 'That I may See'
  25. Repeat 1.
  26. Breathe out while saying, 'Clear my ears'
  27. Repeat 1.
  28. Breathe out while saying, 'That I may hear'
  29. Repeat 1.
  30. Breathe out while saying, 'Cleanse my heart'
  31. Repeat 1.
  32. Breathe out while saying, 'That I may know and love'
  33. Repeat 1.
  34. Breathe out while saying, 'The Holiness of True Existence'
  35. Repeat 1.
  36. Breathe out while saying, 'Divine Cosmic Mind'
